CONCEPT AND PROBLEM OF A SYLLABUS, ITS FUNCTIONS AND ROLE IN LINGUISTICS

Abstract

The article deals with syllabus in French. A syllable is the smallest pronunciation unit. It
is in the syllable that all the phonetic features of sound-phonemes are realized, it is the
syllable that is the unit directly related to the perception of sounding speech. The
syllable is the main articulatory unit of speech. In general phonetic terms, the problem
of the syllable is one of the most important.
