Abstract

The role of drama in American literature and the history of its origin, the growing
interest in drama after World War II are reflected in this article. In addition, the article
notes that the transition of playwrights from the life of romanticism to social life, the
depiction of reality and tragic life, led to a deeper penetration of drama into the literary
scene.
