Abstract

This article will be useful for readers to understand the essence of some semantic correspondences in the English and Russian verb systems. It is well known that in order to ensure adequate translation, the translator must be able to feel the nuances in the semantics of both the source and translated texts. The article explains that, when translating such lexical units into the native language, the translator can refer to the corresponding bilingual dictionary, but what about a deep understanding of why a particular phrasal verb is translated this way, and not otherwise.
